The mission of the Area Agency on Aging is to be the Concho Valley's leader and advocate in facilitating those supportive services and opportunities that enable older citizens to be able to live dignified, independent and productive lives.


Area Plan FFY 2017 2019

Below is the link for the approved Area Plan for the Area Agency on Aging of the Concho Valley. The plan for FFY 2017-2019 was reviewed and approved on January 11, 2017 by Texas Health and Human Services staff. For the detail review, please click here. The Area Plan will be modified as needed based on the needs of Seniors and their caregivers in the Concho Valley region. If the AAACV deems it necessary to modify the Area Plan, a request to modify will be sent to the Texas Health and Human Services (TX HHS) staff for approval. The TX HHS will modify the plan and send back to the Area Agency on Aging; AAACV will then update the link on the agency website.

About Us

The Area Agency on Aging of the Concho Valley is part of a network of 670 Area Agencies nationwide and one of 28 in the state of Texas dedicated to addressing the needs of older people and their caregivers.

We provide services throughout the Concho Valley region which consists of Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Reagan, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, and Tom Green Counties.   The region covers over 16,000 square miles of rural West Texas.   San Angelo serves as the county seat to a county population of approximately 111,823 citizens (2011 estimate) with 13.9% being persons aged 65 years and over.

We are locally sponsored by the Concho Valley Council of Governments and receive funding from Title III of the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, through grants from the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.
