The AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program pairs thousands of Americans ages 55 and older with community organizations across the country. Volunteers choose how, where, and when they want to serve, with commitments ranging from a few hours a week to 40 hours per week. You decide! You have a lifetime of experience, interest and skills to share with your community. What’s holding you back? Come be a part of the largest volunteer agency in the nation for seniors ages 55 and older.

Senior Companion Program (SCP)

Senior Companions typically focus on:

  • Serving seniors who are lonely and need someone to talk to
  • Preparing light meals
  • Walking or low impact exercises with their senior
  • Reminding your senior to take their medications
  • Playing games, watching TV and simply being a good listener to your senior

Vista Program

Since 1965, over 220,000 AmeriCorps members in the VISTA program have joined the fight against poverty by helping local organizations expand their capacity to make change. The VISTA program serves in each of the 50 U.S. states and in all U.S. territories. The Concho Valley Council of Governments Community Enrichment Initiative mission is to create resilient communities by placing VISTA members with non-profits and social service agencies to implement projects that will be to end poverty, empower communities, build capacity and create sustainable solutions throughout our 13-county region. Over the next year, these VISTA members will work to outreach, raise awareness, fundraise, research, recruit volunteers and establish partnerships, all the while gaining the experience and leadership skills to propel them to their next venture.
