We support a total of 15 Public Service Answering Points (PSAPs) within the thirteen county region consisting of Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Reagan, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton, and Tom Green counties.

CVCOG 9-1-1 is responsible for providing emergency communications services including:

  • Mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Services.
  • Coordination of Addressing with Regional Addressing Authorities.
  • 9-1-1 Equipment Installation, Testing, and Maintenance.
  • Network Testing and Monitoring.
  • Tele-communicator Training and Support.
  • Public Education Efforts.
  • State Reporting, Compliance, and Monitoring.

Indoor Mapping Proof of Concept (POC) Project

The School Safety Indoor Mapping Proof of Concept Project partnered the Concho Valley Council of Governments (CVCOG 9-1-1), Mason High School, GeoComm, and the Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC) to create a digital indoor map from scratch, develop a high school class curriculum to attribute the map via student crowdsourced data, implement processes to upload quality-controlled map data to the 9-1-1 map, and experiment with ways to improve indoor call accuracy location computation within the school. These processes were designed to guide best practice recommendations for replication of the project throughout Texas.
